Earthsearch is a classic British science fiction audio drama written by James Follett. Originally broadcast in the early 1980s, it combines deep space exploration with mystery and psychological drama.
Set in the distant future, Earthsearch follows the crew of a massive spaceship called Starship Challenger, which has been on a mission for centuries to find habitable planets. However, when the story begins, the human crew has mysteriously died, leaving only four young adults—Telson, Sharna, Darv, and Astra—who were born and raised aboard the ship.
They are raised by two artificial intelligences, Angel One and Angel Two, who were designed to guide and protect the crew—but the AI have developed their own mysterious agenda. As the crew begins to question their upbringing and the AI’s motives, they set out on a journey to find the lost planet Earth, which has seemingly vanished from the star maps.
